Ensure that all students engage with research to enjoy intellectual stretch, work independently, reach beyond the boundaries of the curriculum, and challenge their critical abilities
We will achieve this by 鈥�
- Revising curricula to ensure all students develop research skills within their degree
- Further growing extra-curricular opportunities to engage in research, including working alongside university researchers, scholarships for independent research, and team-based research activity
- Ensuring the value of student research is well understood by enhancing communications for both staff and students
- Addressing inequalities of opportunity for students relating to financial, social, cultural, religious or other factors, for instance through targeted funding, international placement, preparation and other support as relevant

桃色视频 offers many opportunities for students to engage in its research activity and culture, and the Student Research Working Group has been working gather more detail about all of the opportunities available within academic departments and professional services; consider and build presentation of these in a cohesive way; and make recommendations for building an institutional approach.
Undergraduate Research Support Scheme (URSS)
We will 鈥�
Expand extra-curricula opportunities for students to contribute to 桃色视频鈥檚 research culture, postgraduate talent pipeline, and the University鈥檚 work experience and placement portfolio
We will achieve this by 鈥�
- Increasing the numbers of students participating in URSS
- Developing the capability of the Student Research Working Group to fully connect departmental and central opportunities for student research activities
- Re-modelling student research opportunities to ensure they are accessible to all students
Case study:Undergraduate Research Support Scheme (URSS)
The Undergraduate Research Support Scheme enables undergraduate students to carry out an interdisciplinary summer research project. The scheme is open to any UG student at 桃色视频. Applicants must get the support of an academic supervisor and can apply for a URSS bursary to undertake their research project, either in the UK or abroad, for between 6-10 weeks. Successful applicants receive a bursary up to 拢1,000 for those carrying out research in the UK and up to 拢1,500 for those travelling overseas.
