Heaklig is currently a candidate to the Degree of Doctor of Engineering in Wide-Bandgap Power Electronics. As such, he is part of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Mobility Technologies, and also associated with the Wide-Bandgap Stream of the CDT. His work is actively being supervised by Professor Phil MawbyLink opens in a new window and Dr Jose Ortiz-GonzalezLink opens in a new window, both being widely renowned experts in Power Electronics.
His research concerns advanced packaging of wide-bandgap power devices for enhanced integration, improved converter efficiency and reliability.

Extremely proud to be from the Dominican Republic 馃尨 鈥攜et very pleased and happy to be based in the United Kingdom.
Heaklig obtained his BEng (Hons) at the (2018), and his MSc in Electrical Power (Distinction) from (2019). The latter studies were sponsored by the of his home country, recognising him as a very talented professional and future leader, with huge potential in the fields of applied research.
He natively speaks Spanish, while very competent in English, not to mention survival Italian skills.
