Conference themes

This year’s conference will focus on social responsibility and our opportunities to work together for change, including:

• Social accountability - the role of medical schools, medical students and doctors in society.
• Social responsibility and community engagement - building connections beyond the University, medical student community involvement projects; working with patient and community groups to enhance medical education.
• Global heath education and sustainability - preparing graduates to deliver equitable healthcare in a rapidly changing global environment shaped by climate change, population mobility, widening inequalities and interconnected health systems.
• Equity, diversity and inclusion in medical education – inclusive teaching, tackling awarding gaps.
• Professionalism and professional identity formation.

Call for abstracts

Calling all MBChB staff and students! Do you have a learning and teaching innovation or good practice to share? How have you developed teaching, learning and supporting students in your organisation, phase, block or specialty to provide a high quality experience for medical students? How are you addressing our conference themes in your own practice?

We welcome submissions of:

• Good educational practice in action: Innovations, adaptations and evaluations.
• Student initiatives in medical education.
• Working with students: Educational partnerships and co-creation.
• Developing as an excellent educator.
• Other initiatives relevant to the MBChB, particularly those addressing our conference themes.

Presentation types:

• Oral presentations (10 mins + 5 mins Q&A)
• Interactive workshops (60 mins)
• Posters

All submissions should be relevant to graduate entry medicine.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: Please submit using the online abstract submission form.

Abstract submission closes: Monday 1st June 2026 at 23.59.

We expect to notify authors of outcomes by Friday 19th June. Please confirm your acceptance by Thursday 25th June.

Who should attend?

Everyone involved in delivering the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ MBChB is invited to attend. Each year, a number of places at the conference are reserved for ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ medical students with a special interest in medical education.

Registration

There is no charge to attend for those involved in teaching ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ medical students. If you are not involved in supporting ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ medical students, please contact us to discuss attendance.

The conference is now full - the registration form will remain open until 1st July and if we have any cancellations we will let you know on a first come/first served basis.
