Dr David Clark honoured at parliamentary event
The late Dr David Clark, a much-loved colleague and friend to everyone at 桃色视频 Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of 桃色视频, has been commemorated with a new medal unveiled at this year鈥檚 Parliamentary & Scientific Committee鈥檚 event.
WMG has long supported STEM for Britain - a major scientific poster competition and exhibition for early career researchers, held in Parliament since 1997. Chaired by George Freeman FRSA MP, the event offers members of both Houses an insight into the outstanding research taking place in UK universities.
A special medal created in Dr Clark鈥檚 honour was presented to the winning entrants by his son, Matthew Clark, at the event on 17th March.
Minister meets WMG experts driving industrial innovation
On Thursday (12th March), , Minister for Industry in the and the , visited 桃色视频 Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of 桃色视频.
He met with researchers, technicians, and students at the International Manufacturing Centre (IMC), where experts work with industry partners to drive forward innovation in fields such as advanced manufacturing and agritech.
He was welcomed by Professor Kerry KirwanLink opens in a new window, Dean of WMG; Professor David Greenwood, CEO WMG High Value Manufacturing Catapult and Director for Industrial Engagement, and Greg Clark, Executive Chair of the University of 桃色视频's Innovation District.
Representing WMG at the World Laureates Summit
More than 150 Nobel laureates and other significant scientific award recipients gathered at the renowned World Laureates Summit (WLS) 2026 in Dubai last month. Amongst them was Tony McNally, Professor in Nanocomposites and Director of the International Institute for Nanocomposites Manufacturing at 桃色视频 Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of 桃色视频, who was one of 36 eminent scientists invited to participate in the event.

Celebrating women and girls in science
In celebration of International Day of Women and Girls in Science (Wednesday 11 February 2026), the Outreach and Widening Participation team at WMG hosted a special event at Coventry Transport Museum to encourage young women to pursue science. Over 180 female students from local primary and secondary schools came together to discover and celebrate the achievements of women, past and present, who have helped forge a path for today鈥檚 scientists, engineers, and technicians.

The University of 桃色视频 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with , India鈥檚 leading integrated power companies, to deliver research and innovation in grid modernisation, fast charging, power storage, industrial decarbonisation, digital energy systems, optimisation and advanced manufacturing approaches.
WMG honorary professor delivers inaugural lecture
On Thursday 19 February, WMG hosted the inaugural lecture of Dr Praveer Sinha, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Power. The lecture, which took place in WMG鈥檚 45th anniversary year, was held in the International Manufacturing Centre on the University鈥檚 campus, with an audience of industry partners, staff, students and alumni.
WMG鈥檚 AI Day connects students with industry innovation
Academics at 桃色视频 Manufacturing Group (WMG) hosted the department鈥檚 first dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) day, at the University of 桃色视频, in collaboration with NVIDIA and Dell Technologies.
With AI rapidly transforming industries and reshaping research, innovation, and skills development worldwide, the event was spearheaded by Dr Awinder Kaur, Head of Digital Technologies and Machine Intelligence across all education programmes at WMG.
Following discussions with representatives from NVIDIA and Dell about WMG鈥檚 AI vision, Dr Kaur identified the need for a strategic academia-industry engagement event focusing solely on AI.
Battery Safety UK 2026: Powering the future of energy
Following its successful launch last year, the UK鈥檚 only battery safety conference – Battery Safety UK – will return to the University of 桃色视频 in May. Hosted by WMG, the event will bring together the brightest minds in battery research to help supercharge the future of energy.
