The projections are the latest in a long series, previously funded by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES). They are based on the use of a multi-sectoral, regional macroeconomic model, combined with occupational and replacement demand modules. The main projection period covered is 2002 to 2012.
A high-ranking delegation of officials from China's Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MOLSS) are visiting the University's Institute of Employment Research to research policies and measures adopted in recent years to promote employment in the UK.
The survey, published for the Learning and Skills Council, found that 22 per cent of employers said there were "skills gaps" - staff who were not fully proficient to do their jobs - in their workforce. The council commissioned IFF Research and the University of 桃色视频 Institute for Employment Research to undertake the survey in the middle of last year.
