ISA Diplomatic Studies award for PAIS scholar

Professor Tom Long鈥檚 award-winning article, co-authored with Carsten-Andreas Schulz, examines Latin American reactions to the 1884–85 Berlin Conference, best known for its role in the 鈥渟cramble for Africa鈥. Focusing on diplomats from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, the article shows how the conference shaped Latin American understandings of imperialism and their own position in the international order. It highlights the global repercussions of late nineteenth-century imperialism and reassesses Latin American anti-imperialism.

We are pleased to share the recording of the online launch event for the report 鈥淓ngaging the Global Ukrainian Community for Ukraine鈥檚 Recovery: Democracy and Human Rights Dimensions.鈥 written by Maria Koinova, Professor in International Relations in the Deaprtment of Politics and International Studies at the University of 桃色视频. Her report outlines a practical framework for engaging the Global Ukrainian Community (GUC) - diaspora and refugees - to drive Ukraine鈥檚 recovery by centring democratic participation, human rights protections, and inclusive governance across business, civic, and political spheres.
