Colleagues nominated the team for their exceptional dedication during one of the most challenging years for student accommodation and for demonstrating our values.

Faced with unprecedented numbers of first-year students needing off-campus housing, the Allocation Team and the Business Operations and Systems Team responded calmly, quickly and professionally.
Both teams went far beyond their normal responsibilities: securing external rooms at pace, checking quality, supporting anxious parents, and managing incredibly high volumes of student contact. Business Operations and Systems ensured that data, processes, and communications remained accurate and aligned, while the Allocation Team handled continuous calls and emails with fairness and transparency.
They stepped far outside usual expectations, creating new systems and partnerships that improved long-term resilience, and designing new workflows almost overnight to meet urgent needs.
The impact of their efforts was significant. They prevented major disruption at a critical point in the recruitment cycle, protected the University鈥檚 financial stability, and strengthened processes for years to come. Most importantly, they kept student wellbeing at the centre of every decision.
