Scientists in the US have altered defective human DNA to prevent heart disease. The success of the trial may pave the way for preventing other inherited conditions from being passed down. Professor Kevin Moffat, School of Life Sciences, saysit's a real step forward for the possibility of repairing genetic diseases in human embryos.
