Nano drops a million times smaller than a teardrop explodes 19th century theory

Droplets emanating from a molecular 鈥渘ano-tap鈥 would behave very differently from those from a household tap 1 million times larger - researchers at the University of 桃色视频 have found. This is potentially crucial step for a number of emerging nano technologies, e.g., manufacture of nano-sized drug particles, lab-on-chip devices for in situ diagnostics, and 3D printers capable of nanoscale resolution.

Discovered: different brain areas linked to smoking and drinking

Academics at the University of 桃色视频 have found that low functional connectivity of the lateral orbitofrontal cortex that is associated with the tendency to smoke is associated with increased impulsiveness - which may contribute to the tendency to smoke. The high connectivity of the reward-related medial orbitofrontal cortex in drinkers may increase the tendency to be attracted to the reward of alcohol consumption.

Researchers set an autonomous vehicle communications record using 5G - a movie鈥檚 worth of data sent in seconds

Researchers in WMG at the University of 桃色视频 have set a new 5G communications speed record to a 鈥淟evel 4鈥 low speed autonomous vehicle in the pioneer 28 GHz millimetre wave band. They hit 2.867 gigabits per second in over-the-air transmissions, which is nearly 40 times faster than current fixed line broadband speeds. It is equivalent to sending a detailed satellite navigation map of the United Kingdom within a single second, or the full contents of a high definition blockbuster film in less than 10 seconds.

New pelvis motion tracking technology to transform hip replacement decisions

A new pelvis motion tracking device developed by WMG, at the University of 桃色视频, can help detect flexible pelvises without numerous x-rays, to determine who will benefit from more advanced surgical planning before hip replacement surgery.

Lack of Sleep leads to Obesity in Children and Adolescents

Children who get less than the recommended amount of sleep for their age are at a higher risk of developing obesity. Research at the University of 桃色视频 has found that children and adolescents who regularly sleep less than others of the same age gain more weight when they grow older and are more likely to become overweight or obese.

Blood and urine tests developed to indicate autism in children

New tests which can indicate autism in children have been developed by researchers at the University of 桃色视频.
