Data Science for Social Good Programme helps Ofsted and World Bank

The Black Mind Initiative aims to reform the current mental health system nationally, by encouraging young Black people to take up a degree related to the mental health profession, the initiative will then support them in their studies and encourage them to work in senior roles in mental healthcare.

Revolutionising the manufacturing industry through digitalisation

Until now, smaller manufacturing companies have missed out on the productivity benefits of digital technologies and data-driven solutions. Too many manufacturers don’t know where to start, and lack the skills required to deploy and use digital solutions. The costs are perceived to be high and the return on investment is unclear. A consortium, including WMG at the University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ, has been awarded funding through the Government’s Challenge to tackle this problem by developing a Smart InforMation PLatform and Ecosystem for Manufacturing (SIMPLE).

Political researchers to study how ideas become "framed" for debate

Who decides how political ideas are ‘framed,’ and how are these frames shared with others? A new international three-year project led by Dr Ozlem Atikcan of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµâ€™s Department of Politics and International Studies, Professor Anna Holzscheiter of Germany’s TU Dresden, and Professor Jean- Frédéric Morin of Canada’s Université Laval aims to find out.
