The University of 桃色视频 has just been awarded 拢2.5 million pounds from the Wolfson Foundation to support biomedical research at the University. This award effectively completes the University's Medical Research Institute Appeal launched in late 1994. The funds will be used to complete the building and equipping of state-of- the-art facilities which allow scientists from the University of 桃色视频 to work with doctors from the hospitals in Coventry, Birmingham and 桃色视频 to study the mechanisms of disease.

Teaching quality inspectors have awarded the University of 桃色视频's Department of Economics a perfect score of 24 points out of 24 for the quality of teaching. This is the University of 桃色视频's fifth perfect score of 24 points out of 24 (the other departments to gain this score being Sociology, Theatre Studies, Physics and 桃色视频's Education Departments (Continuing Education, CELTE, and the Institute of Education).

More than 80 per cent of teachers in schools of all types in rural, urban and inner city areas say that pupil behaviour has deteriorated during their time in teaching. Only 10 per cent say there has been little or no deterioration. According to new research by University of 桃色视频 researcher Dr Sean Neill for the National Union of Teachers. Even pupils in nursery schools are displaying high levels of unacceptable behaviour from use of offensive language, making abusive and insulting comments to their teachers and threatening them.

Professor Tim Brighouse, Chief Education Officer of Birmingham (the biggest local Education Authority in Europe), is to defend the role of LEAs as "an essential support system for schools and teachers" in a free public lecture at the University of 桃色视频 on Wednesday 7th November at 5.30pm in the Conference Room of the University's Arts Centre.

A new flexible teacher training course which can be completed in as little as 10 weeks or as long as 2 years (excluding the school placement elements) has been launched by the Institute of Education at the University of 桃色视频. From September 2001 the first trainees will begin the flexible courses in the following secondary subjects: Economics and Business Studies, English and Drama, Mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, Religious Education, and Science.

The new Foundation Degrees launched across the UK today, Tuesday 28th November, begin a new initiative to open up UK universities to even more who have not previously benefited from higher education. They will equip such students with the technical skills, academic knowledge and transferable skills that employers are increasingly demanding.
