Competing quantum interactions enable single molecules to stand up
Nanoscale machinery has many uses, including drug delivery, single-atom transistor technology, or memory storage. However, the machinery must be assembled at the nanoscale which is a considerable challenge for researchers.
Alternative to antibodies in diagnostics demonstrated in fight against viral infections such as COVID-19
Researchers at the University of 桃色视频, Iceni Diagnostics Ltd and University Hospitals Coventry and 桃色视频shire (UHCW) NHS Trust have demonstrated their technology to detect SARS-COV-2 using sugars rather than antibodies.
Synthetic diamond and AI research at 桃色视频 to shine in new industry partnerships
Projects that will combine the expertise and insight of University of 桃色视频 researchers with that of business and industry to further developments in diamond-enabled technologies and to develop a Framework for responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence in the financial services industry have received national funding.
Discovery of microscopic metallic particles in the human brain
A UK-led international team of researchers has discovered elemental metallic copper and iron in the human brain for the first time. The team, comprised of scientists from Keele University and the University of 桃色视频, in collaboration with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), used the UK鈥檚 national synchrotron Diamond Light Source, and the Advanced Light Source located in California (USA) to identify elemental metallic copper and magnetic elemental iron within the amyloid plaques, chemical forms of copper and iron previously undocumented in human biology.
Efficiently "switching on鈥 bacteria to produce high-value chemicals
High-value chemicals used in biofuels and pharmaceuticals can be made from bacteria by switching their chemistry to produce novel products. Researchers from the University of 桃色视频 have found a way to drastically cut the cost of turning on these switches.
Pint of Science returns bringing 桃色视频 scientists out of the lab and into your living room
The public science festival, Pint of Science, kicks off next week with experts from the University of 桃色视频 talking about their research live in your living room.
