The University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ will announce today (Tuesday 14th May 2019) a transformational new £10 million social mobility programme - ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Scholars - that aims to change the lives of hundreds of Midlands young people who have the potential to study at ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ, one of the world’s top 100 ranked universities, but who may face social or economic barriers to entering ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ. The new programme includes admissions offers up to 4 grades below ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµâ€™s standard A level offer.

The University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ has just announced that it will award honorary degrees to six people at its winter degree ceremonies which will run from Wednesday 16 January - Friday 18 January in the Butterworth Hall of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Arts Centre.
£20 million for West Midlands to enable WMG at the University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ to create a UK Mobility Data Institute
The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced that the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) will receive up to £20 million, subject to approval of a satisfactory business case, to enable WMG, at the University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ to create the UK Mobility Data Institute, a focussed research centre to collect, process and analyse transport data generated by the advent of new mobility technologies such as autonomous vehicles and smart charging of electrified vehicles.
WMG part of a £37m project to develop lightweight vehicles
A new research project, Tucana, will focus on lighweighting technology, delivering stiffer and lighter vehicle structures with the help of experts from WMG, at the University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ.
WMG will receive £4m, of the £18.7m government funding through the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), to drive the development of innovative lightweight vehicle and powertrain structures, building on the UK’s leading-edge capability in this area.
