IDG to stock standard laptops

Working together, IDG and Procurement team colleagues have successfully completed a strategic bulk purchase of laptops. The deal should deliver some significant savings per device, plus a 5-year warranty and double the typical internal storage capacity.

We are already seeing these cost and specification benefits for the university through this coordinated approach, jointly supported by Procurement, the Finance Office and IDG.

The laptops currently in stock have 512GB storage instead of the standard 256GB. They are Windows 11 compatible and support the University鈥檚 future hardware requirements. Once all bulk stock has been purchased, devices will return to the standard 256GB storage offering, so if you鈥檙e considering upgrading to a new Windows 11 device, these stock laptops offer great value.

M5 Macbooks
Please note that the newest M5 MacBooks do NOT come with a charger. Please retain your old one if retiring old laptops should you need a charger.
