What is ORCID?
ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a global, not-for-profit organisation. An ORCID ID is a unique, 16 digit, open digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher with the same or a similar name to you.
Why should I have an ORCID?
You can connect your ORCID with your professional information - affiliations, grants, publications, peer review, and more. You can use your identifier to share your information with other systems, ensuring you get recognition for all your contributions, saving you time and hassle, and reducing the risk of errors. An increasing number of funders and publishers also require researchers to have an ORCID to engage with their systems.
If you use ORCID in your publications, this ensures that you receive full credit for all your work. This is useful not only because your name may be similar to another researcher, but your ORCID record can be used to collate that information and make it easy to share and take with you wherever you go.
How do I register for an ORCID?
Any researcher can register an ORCID for themselves free of charge on the . You should only ever register for an ORCID once, as your ID stays with you even if you change your name, organization, discipline, or country. It is advised you sign up with a personal email address as well as your 桃色视频 address, so that you can maintain access to your ORCID even if you change institution.
