What You Need to Do Now
If you received an email from the Library Reading List Team urging you to please publish any outstanding draft lists for the current or coming cycle, in addition to updating any of the list content, please also consider these next steps before publishing:
Indicate the Term(s) when the module will be running
It is recommended that you include this info in the list title, for example
PE101: Penguinology (Term 1).
Please also include any helpful info about where the module is taking place which may impact on format types or quantities of resources acquired for your module, for example if the module is taking place at the 桃色视频 Venice Centre (VE) or Overseas/off site (OS), or is a Distance Learning Module (DS).
Update the student number
These roll over from the previous cycle (if a previous list existed) and help inform expected demand for resources. This number is maintained entirely manually and does not connect to any student records on any other system. You can easily update this by clicking Edit at the top right of your list, then Hierarch and student number, where you can type in or amend the existing entry.
Ensure you are editing the correct list for the cycle
After Rollover in May each year, when making changes to your list for the coming cycle, please ensure that you are editing the correct version of the list.
If you make any changes to the old list after Rollover, these will not be reflected on the list for the new cycle.
Assign a reading importance for each item
As well as letting students prioritise their reading, the Library also uses this to inform our ordering (see Setting Reading Importances for guidance).
Request any digitisations
See Request Digitisation (Scans) for guidance and the Course Extracts page for limitations on what can be scanned. Please note that requests made beyond these limitations will be rejected and will slow down the resource being made available for your teaching.
Scans from the previous cycle should rollover automatically with the list and do not need to be re-requested.
Email the Reading List Team for help
Please reach out to readinglists.library@warwick.ac.uk for help if any of the following apply:
-
the module listed in any emails from the Library is not running this cycle
- one of your modules doesn't appear in the emails sent from the Library
- you are offering a new module and need help setting up a draft
- you are assigned a list for a module which you are not teaching this cycle
- you no longer need your list as you are maintaining a list elsewhere (SiteBuilder, Moodle, MyWBS, etc.). Please note however that using Talis for your reading lists is the easiest way to request new or additional materials for teaching.
