Bring in your small electricals, textiles, furniture and more to learn repair skills with fixers from the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ community. You'll find us in the Green Room at the Students' Union on Tuesday 21 October from 1pm - 4pm.

One World ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ is back for its second year this November! Join us to celebrate 60 years of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ's global engagement and impact. With events on campus and with partners worldwide, One World ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ invites you to connect, collaborate, celebrate, and explore new perspectives.
Our 2024/25 Savings: Electricity, Heat and Water
We are proud to announce our 2024/25 energy savings. The Energy and Sustainability team diligently check data from thousands of meters across campus to tackle energy inefficiencies. In the 2024/25 academic year, we avoided wasting enough electricity to drive an electric car 57 times around the world.
Diwali​ is on 20 October. Celebrate with the Students’ Union on 21 October as they lead a day of making, music, and delicious food as part of One World ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ.
Join us for The (Free) Breakfast Club every Tuesday, starting from 8:30am - 10:30am in The Green Room! Help yourself to a variety of hot and cold breakfast options, alongside a hot drink. Remember, once it’s gone, it’s gone - so be sure to get in quick!
Global Illuminations Procession - Workshops
As part of our 60th anniversary celebrations and One World ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ, join us for Workshop Wednesdays and other creative sessions to prepare for a dazzling international light procession that will wind through the heart of campus on 19 November.
World Mental Health Day
Take a break from studying and research and get involved in a variety of activities to support your wellbeing. Visit the SU Atrium for their World Mental Health Day Fair, get active with ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Sport, or relax in the Library's sensory workspace. The Nook is now open – our brand-new space tucked in between Curiositea and Rootes, created for students to pause, meet and discover. Join friendly gatherings like the Community Lounge and Global Café, where you can share experiences, get creative, and make new friends.
Black History Month at ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ
Take part in events happening across campus to celebrate Black History Month. Design your own t-shirt with the SU, join the Law School’s 5th Black Arts Showcase, discover the Library’s curated Ethnicity and Migration collection, or watch In the Heat of the Night with the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Student Cinema.
Photo Exhibit:​ 60 Years ​of Student Life
Curated to celebrate the University’s 60th Anniversary, this exhibition showcases some (but certainly not all) of the many aspects of student life at the University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ over the past ​six decades. Visit the Main Library entrance area on Floor 1, or the Modern Records Centre between September and December 2025 to view.
University House: Temporary closure
University House is temporarily closing for important maintenance work. From November 2025, the University House Learning Grids will be closed for approximately 12 months. Find alternative study spaces on campus here.

Central campus Post Office closes today
The central campus Post Office will be closed from today (Friday 25 July), alongside Rootes Grocery Store, for refurbishment as we launch a new Co-Op store in September. The nearest Post Office in the meantime is at Cannon Park.
The Big Butterfly Count: 24 July
Join us on this butterfly-themed event on Thursday 24th July, 10:00-11:00 and 11:00-12:00, to learn more about the Big Butterfly Count, explore what species we have on campus and have a go at contributing to the world's largest butterfly survey. This activity contributes to the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Award.
Moth Survey: Thursday 10 July
We continue our ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ at Night event series with a moth survey. Join us on Thursday 10th July at 9 am to see what species of moths can be found at this location! Spaces are limited to sign-up is essential. The activity contributes to the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Award.
Biodiversity Walk - Birds: Monday 7 July
Our Biodiversity Walks are back! Join us on a relaxing lunchtime stroll on Monday 7th July, enjoy being surrounded by greenery and bird song, and find out more about what bird species can be found on campus. This activity contributes to the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Award.
Rootes Grocery Store is now closed
Rootes Grocery Store is now closed for a full refurbishment and will reopen as the University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ's Co-op on Wednesday 24th September. A pop-up shop will be opening on Monday 28th July, this will be located in the SU building, opposite The Finery Barbers. The shop will sell a reduced range of basic supplies, including sandwiches, bread, milk, drinks, snacks, fruit, tea and coffee. You can read about the new Co-op store here.

Demonstrations on campus – Wednesday 14 May and Thursday 15 May 2025
We are aware of a demonstration currently taking place outside Senate House. The demonstration is by ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Stands with Palestine. On Wednesday 14 May and Thursday 15 May access to University House and WMG buildings will move to a single point of access. This is in response to a planned rally. You will need to be prepared to show your university ID to Community Safety staff and keep it visible while in the buildings. University House will close to students for general access from Thursday 15 May and remain closed to students until Friday morning.
Win a pair of noise cancelling headphones worth £50
The Library is running a 'Be Considerate' campaign aimed at encouraging a supportive study environment during the busy Term 3. Get involved and enter a competition to win a £50 pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Enter the prize draw by sharing your tips and tricks on how to study considerately during Term 3 in different Library noise zones via the submission form. The competition closes on 16 May, so don't miss out.
