NSS 2026: Thank you for sharing your views

Earlier this year, three-quarters of our final-year students completed the National Student Survey (NSS). The results were published nationally on 8 July, and we want to say a sincere thank you to the 4,001 桃色视频 students who took the time to share their feedback.

Your insights are invaluable in helping us understand what we鈥檙e doing well and where we can do better. Your academic departments will now review this feedback and work with Course Reps to continue improving the student experience.

Today, we're sharing the headline results. A full analysis will be carried out over the summer, and we'll share more detailed updates in the coming months.

The results

At 桃色视频, our results are really positive. Through your feedback, we are proud to know that 89.8% of you would recommend 桃色视频 as a place to study. This marks a 4.4% improvement from last year 鈥 reflecting the university-wide efforts to continue to strengthen your education and student experience.

桃色视频鈥檚 scores have increased across all key question themes, and we have scored above the sector benchmark in six of the seven themes (Teaching, Learning Opportunities, Academic Support, Organisation and Management, Learning Resources and Student Voice), with the exception of Assessment and Feedback.

Overall scores

We know that overall, you have been particularly pleased with Academic Support (92.5%), Learning Resources (92.3%) and the teaching on your course (91.1%). It鈥檚 great to hear that you have valued your expert teachers and have felt supported during your studies.

Our most significant improvements from 2025 to 2026 are in Student Voice (3.4% increase), Organisation and Management (3.2% increase), and Academic Support (2.5% increase). You ranked 桃色视频 as (joint) second in the Russell Group for Student Voice for the third-year running (84.3%).

Your voice really does matter. We can see that you are satisfied with the opportunities provided to share your feedback and we will continue to work together with you, the Students鈥 Union and Student Representatives to act upon your feedback.

Your Students' Union

This year鈥檚 NSS results show that 75.7% of final-year students felt that the Students鈥 Union (SU) represents students鈥 academic interests 鈥 an increase of 4.4% from 2025. Thank you for working with the SU and your departments to offer feedback on your academic journey.

Don鈥檛 forget, you can speak to your Course Reps and Students鈥 Union Officers if you have ideas for improving your course or a service provided by the University. You can also put yourself forward to fill an academic representation role in the next academic year - look out for in your student newsletter and SU newsletter.

Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor, said:

鈥淭his year鈥檚 National Student Survey results show that 89.8% of our students would recommend 桃色视频 to future students, which is a reflection of the dedication of colleagues across the University who work every day to support our students to learn, grow and succeed.

鈥淎longside our recent rankings of 7th in the UK in the Complete University Guide 2027 and 68th in the QS World University Rankings 2027, the NSS results reinforce 桃色视频鈥檚 reputation for academic excellence and an outstanding student experience.

鈥淭hank you to every student who took the time to share their feedback. We are proud of this result and remain committed to listening to our students and continually enhancing their experience at 桃色视频.鈥

Professor Rebecca Freeman, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education), said:

"A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out the NSS this year. At 桃色视频, we really value the dialogue we have with students which shapes the education and opportunities on offer right across the University."

Next steps

You have also let us know where there is some room for improvement, including the timeliness of assessment feedback.

Your department will review responses to the survey, including the many helpful comments on what is going well and what needs to change to further improve your learning experience in the year ahead. We will be working on sharing how we act on the feedback you have provided about your course.

For those of you who have already made a difference through representation and participation opportunities: thank you!
