We’re very proud to announce that for being a , just one year after achieving Bronze status. Achieving a silver award means a great deal to our community as it reflects our growing commitment to becoming a more environmentally friendly campus.

Staff and student volunteers got involved in tree planting on campus earlier this month. We received 420 saplings as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy initiative, which were planted by volunteers in the space of a couple of hours on 1st February behind Sherbourne residences.

On 24th January the relaunch event of the Student Green Champion Network took place to introduce new student opportunities focusing on sustainability to get involved with. During the event attendees heard from student volunteers about their experiences as well as from Katherine Mayfield, David Chapman, and Evelin Sanderson-Nichols, Sustainability Champions, and Steven Burke, Skills Coordinator, about the different ways green champions volunteering activities can be linked to the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Award.

This month, we are supporting Keep Britain Tidy's January initiative . On each Tuesday throughout the month, we’ll be sharing tips and tricks on how you can buy nothing new and make the most of what you already have. We will be calling on you to rethink what you want versus what you need, reconsider if you can repair versus replace and think about whether you can rent, borrow or buy second-hand rather than buy new.
