This Summer Term, students in Film & TV Studies have been busy with extra activities alongside their studies.

Student film wins at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Student Production Awards

Film and Television Studies at 桃色视频 has recently introduced an innovative intensive on-site undergraduate module based in Venice. Screening Venice offers students the chance to engage with the past of Venice鈥檚 long screen history, today鈥檚 Venice Film Festival and the future water cultures of the wider lagoon.

This week FTV student Anfisa Semenova had a unique opportunity to work as a runner on the film set of Zoraide, a 9 Muse Films production. Read about her experiences below:

Shot in Lucca, Italy, being a runner on this film was an incredibly interesting and useful hands-on experience as I got an insight into the inner and outer workings of a professional film set, as well as learn about the production process and delve into it myself. Zoraide was a very special and important project to undertake because it is based on a true story that took place during the Second World War in the Tuscan hills of Compignano. The film aims to tell a harsh reality by exploring the ability of children to interpret the world with innocent eyes and with the curiosity of a pure heart. It was a pleasure to work alongside such a talented crew and contribute to the making of the film. As the post-production process begins, I can't wait to see the finished product with the premiere set for September 2024!
