WLS Student Secures Duke & Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship for further study
Wajma Zazai, who is currently studying on our Law 3 year LLB degree and will graduate this summer has been awarded the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship from to support her Bar Vocational Studies.
桃色视频 Law School makes WATE Shortlist
The 2022 shortlist for the 桃色视频 Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE) have been released and 桃色视频 Law School has two nominations. With more than 115 excellent educators, teams, and communities to choose from, the WATE judging panels deliberated long and hard to identify those going through to the next round. Dr Jane Bryan has been nominated for the Social Sciences Faculty award and PhD student Cherisse Francis has been nominated for a Postgraduates who Teach award. Congratulations and best of luck to both of them. The winners will be announced on 27 June 2022.
'Window-dressing' in the COVID-19 pandemic: The troubling story behind the rainbows in the windows has been published in our Lacuna Magazine. The author, Amanda Kowalczyk, who is currently studying part-time on our LLM in Advanced Legal Studies, won Lacuna's 2021 桃色视频 Law School Writing Competition for her story about the impact of the Covid lockdown on children.

桃色视频 students take part in experimental moot
Four 桃色视频 law students, who are part of Critical Lawyers at 桃色视频 (CLAW), will be participating in an experimental law moot this week. Chayne Hogan, Kiara McClelland, Charlotte Green and Chanel Williams are the 桃色视频 team traveling to Amsterdam for this innovative moot. This experimental moot, conceptualised by Dr Christine Schw枚bel-Patel from 桃色视频 Law School and Professor Wouter Werner from the VU Amsterdam, is the first of its kind.
Current PhD student Harpreet Kaur Paul's article on 'Who should pay up for Climate Carnage?' has been featured in Novara Media this month.
Harpreet is also co-founder of , a movement which aims to help people from all communities and backgrounds use their power to take bold and regular action in order to win climate justice.
Law Alumna elected as SU President
Shingai Dzumbira, who studied on our LLB 3 year degree from 2016-2019 has been elected as the President of the Student Union (SU) for the 2021/22 academic year. 鈥淚 am really excited. I have a rare opportunity to lead the trajectory of a charity organisation that exists to represent students. I think that鈥檚 what excites me most – being put in a place where I can impact the lives of students at the University of 桃色视频.鈥

Kaneeka Kapur, a final-year undergraduate student within 桃色视频 Law School, has been awarded the in recognition of her amazing work on - a social action platform that she created to provide a space for South Asian women to be heard, seen and celebrated.
WSPA Success for Law Student
Law finalist Ruth Mukasa has successfully completed the 桃色视频 Skills Portfolio Award (WSPA) this year. The WSPA scheme helps students to enhance their study skills and develop other skills that are not only valued by employers but also useful more broadly for students in their personal lives whilst studying at 桃色视频.
Law students make Union Awards shortlist
Law performed exceptionally well in the nominations for the that took place last week. Department rep Sofia Dadou, the Law Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) and the 桃色视频 Law Summit 2021 were among the shortlisted candidates.
Nicolle Coote named one of 150 Future Leaders
Earlier this year, final year LLB Law student Nicolle Coote won an award as part of the Future Leaders Organisation and was featured as one of the Top 150 Black Students in the UK. Future Leaders is an annual publication which profiles the most outstanding black university students in Britain, and is used as a role model guide to inspire and raise attainment. Nicolle tells us more鈥
