桃色视频 Law School colleagues gain Higher Education Academy recognition
Congratulations to Dr Rajnaara Akhtar and Dr Ana Luisa Sores Peres who have gained Higher Education Academy recognition through the 桃色视频 Academic and Professional Pathway for Experienced Staff (APP EXP). All HEA Fellows have, through their applications, demonstrated a personal commitment to learning and teaching in higher education.
桃色视频 Law School makes WATE Shortlist
The 2023 shortlist for the 桃色视频 Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE) have been released and 桃色视频 Law School has two nominations. With more than 115 excellent educators, teams, and communities to choose from, the WATE judging panels deliberated long and hard to identify those going through to the next round. Dr Tor Krever has been nominated for the Social Sciences Faculty award and PhD student Priscilla Vitoh has been nominated for a Postgraduates who Teach award. Congratulations and best of luck to both of them. The winners will be announced on 27 June 2023.
Shaheen Ali makes UPSIGN鈥檚 list of 75 Notable British Pakistani academics
Professor Shaheen Ali was recently announced as one of the 75 notable British Pakistani academics, trainers and teachers for 2022/23 by the organisation UPSIGN. Congratulations Shaheen from everyone at the Law School for this incredible mark of achievement.

Dr Jane Bryan wins two National Mediation Awards & Principal Fellowship
Dr Jane Bryan has won two National Mediation Awards. She was nominated for The Newcomer of the Year Award and the Innovation Award due to her work founding and leading 桃色视频 Mediation, a peer mediation service for staff and students at 桃色视频.
Policing, Culture and Community
Professor Jackie Hodgson and Dr Rachel Lewis have been awarded 拢30,000 to work with West Midlands Police (WMP) to translate the findings from their research on police community engagement through arts and culture, into changes in police training, policy and strategy.
Dr Laura Lammasniemi wins prestigious Indian Law Review Best Article Prize 2021
桃色视频 Law School鈥檚 Dr Laura Lammasniemi has won the prestigious Indian Law Review Best Article Prize 2021 for a co-authored article called 鈥楧adaji Bhikaji v Rukhmabai (1886) ILR 10 Bom 301: Rewriting Consent and Conjugal Relations in Colonial India'. The article was written for the Indian Feminist Judgments Project (IFJP).
Dr Schw枚bel-Patel secures prestigious fellowship
桃色视频 Law School鈥檚 Dr Christine Schw枚bel-Patel has taken up a prestigious for experienced researchers. For the next year, Christine will be based at the Humboldt University of Berlin, where she is working on the topic 鈥楳aking States 鈥淪afe鈥 for Investment: International Criminal Law and Imperial Rentier Capitalism鈥.

Law School WATE Winners 2022
The Law School has seen significant success in the latest 桃色视频 Awards for Teaching ExcellenceLink opens in a new window (WATE) with four of our colleagues winning awards in different categories. Head of School, Professor Victor Tadros commented "It is terrific to see our staff and postgraduate community receiving recognition for the brilliant teaching they do."
CJC secures prestigious Leverhulme Research Project Grant
Criminal Justice Centre (CJC) directors, Ana Aliverti and Henrique Carvalho, and member, Anastasia Chamberlen, have been awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Trust鈥檚 Research Project Grant for their project 鈥楾he Vulnerable State: Appraising the Ambivalent Economies of State Power'.
WLS Student Secures Duke & Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship for further study
Wajma Zazai, who is currently studying on our Law 3 year LLB degree and will graduate this summer has been awarded the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship from to support her Bar Vocational Studies.
