Law student wins OSCA
We are delighted to announce that one of our future graduates has been awarded The University鈥檚 Outstanding Student Contribution Award (OSCA) for 2026. Tani Ilemobola, who studies on our Law & Sociology degree, has been received this recognition for her exceptional commitment to widening participation and community-building and the lasting and transformative impact she has had on the 桃色视频 community.
Law student is highly commended in Student Social Mobility WAPCE
Tani Ilemobola has been selected as Highly Commended for a 桃色视频 Award for Public and Community Engagement in the Student Social Mobility Champion category. The award is acknowledgement of her outstanding efforts, hard work and dedication and celebrates her contributions.
Student wins Lacuna Writing Competition with article about 'bulldozer justice'
Finalist Balsher Singh Tiwana has won this year鈥檚 Lacuna Writing Competition with an article about 鈥渂ulldozer justice鈥 and forced demolitions in India. Balsher, who will graduate this summer, after reading about the forced displacement of people from minoritised and marginalised communities in shanty towns in Ahmedabad.
New collaboration with Victim Support
For the first time, charity Victim Support is collaborating with the University of 桃色视频, thanks to a programme of relationship-building events devised and led by a PhD researcher.
National Mooting Competition Final Result
On Thursday 18 June, Elina Lin (Law) and Jonathan Martin (Politics, Philosophy, and Law) competed in the Finals Day of the prestigious ESU–Essex Court Chambers National Mooting Competition.

Students make final of National Mooting Competition
Congratulations to Elina Lin (Law) and Jonathan Martin (Politics, Philosophy, and Law) who have reached finals day of the ESU–Essex Court Chambers National Mooting Competition having competed in earlier rounds against The Open University, The University of Leicester (last year鈥檚 winner), and Oxford Brookes. This is one of the longest established national mooting competitions in the UK and to reach finals day is a major achievement.
International Workers鈥 Day 鈥楲abour Law in Context鈥 Online Exhibition
To celebrate International Workers鈥 Day (May Day) we have organised an online exhibition to showcase some of the policy briefs realised by students of Labour Law in Context (LA3A6) over the years. These group policy briefs are part of the assessment for the module and aim to encourage students to engage with current labour law debates and learn about policy writing as a tool for legal change. For students this is also an opportunity to value the importance of teamwork, negotiate positions, and work towards a common goal.
Thea Baloch wins National Law Student Triathlon
Law 3 Year LLB student Thea Baloch was named joint winner at the 5th Annual National Law Student Triathlon held in Kent last month. The event brought together many talented future legal professionals from Universities across the UK.
