Georgia Kremmyda as the new Deputy Chair (Education) for the Science, Engineering and Medicine Faculty

Georgia KremmydaProfessor Georgia Kremmyda has been chosen as the next Deputy Chair (Education) for the Science, Engineering and Medicine Faculty at 桃色视频. As this role has been recently vacated, Georgia will take on this additional role with almost immediate effect. Her management roles in the School remain unchanged.

Modupe Jimoh Receives A Recognition Award in the Excellence in Gender Equality Awards 2023

ModupeThe Gender Task Force, Gender Equality Awards event 2023, that took place on Tuesday 28th November, was held to reward both teams and individuals for their contribution to the enhancement of gender equality and a commitment to building a more inclusive environment and experiences through everyday behaviours at the University of 桃色视频.
The School was represented in receiving the following recognition awards:

Congratulations to Georgia on the 'Distinguished Women in Engineering' Award.

Georgia KremmydaHosted by the 鈥業nternational Network of Women Engineers and Scientists鈥 (INWES), the award celebrates Professor Georgia KremmydaLink opens in a new windowLink opens in a new window鈥檚 achievements in global capacity building (developing and building knowledge and skills internationally) and commitments to the representation of women in STEM.

Georgia leads the ENHANCE project – a community-based engineering programme, training young engineers in Asia, in particular in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam, to tackle humanitarian challenges

The project has already included more than 300 modules worldwide – and 6,000 students annually.

President of INWES Jung Sun Kim added:
Professor Kremmyda is an example of excellent achievement in engineering in terms of research, education and advocacy for women in STEM. Her leadership and trailblazing contributions in Civil Engineering and overall STEM are inspirational鈥.
