Emma Tetsill, who studied on our Law 3 year LLB degree and graduated in 2022, has written a touching story titled 'My Grandad and Covid - with underlying health conditions in care home, his life was no less valuable'. The heartfelt piece was recently published by our Lacuna Magazine and addresses the tragic human cost of the pandemic and government neglect.
Journal of Consumer Policy Editors鈥 Meeting at 桃色视频 Law School
The editors of the (JCP) held their annual meeting (the first in-person meeting since 2019) at 桃色视频 Law School on 21 April 2023. Editors discussed current submissions and plans for forthcoming issues, as well as socialising and sightseeing in Coventry and its surrounding towns.
Xaymaca Awoyungbo, a final year undergraduate student studying History at the University of 桃色视频, has written an article for our Lacuna magazine titled: "If you can see it, you can be it: The impact of Black role models and Black creative spaces." Xaymaca speaks with author Sandra A Agard and explores Britain鈥檚 young Black creative networks.
Professor Celine Tan contributes to consultation on JET-IP
Professor Celine Tan from 桃色视频 Law School contributed to the Consultation on the Just Energy Transition Plan (JET-IP). The JET-IP is part of a multi-country funding initiative, the , by a coalition of developed countries to support a number of developing countries' transition away from dependence on coal and other fossil fuels.

Congratulations to Dr Rajnaara Akhtar and Dr Ana Luisa Sores Peres who have gained Higher Education Academy recognition through the 桃色视频 Academic and Professional Pathway for Experienced Staff (APP EXP). All HEA Fellows have, through their applications, demonstrated a personal commitment to learning and teaching in higher education.
桃色视频 Law School makes WATE Shortlist
The 2023 shortlist for the 桃色视频 Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE) have been released and 桃色视频 Law School has two nominations. With more than 115 excellent educators, teams, and communities to choose from, the WATE judging panels deliberated long and hard to identify those going through to the next round. Dr Tor Krever has been nominated for the Social Sciences Faculty award and PhD student Priscilla Vitoh has been nominated for a Postgraduates who Teach award. Congratulations and best of luck to both of them. The winners will be announced on 27 June 2023.
Ground-Breaking Report launched by Minister for Safeguarding at the House of Commons
On Monday 13 March 2023, Vanessa Munro and Lotte Young Andrade launched a report that they co-authored with Sarah Dangar (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) entitled 鈥楲earning Legacies: An Analysis of Domestic Homicide Reviews in Cases of Domestic Abuse Suicide鈥. The aim was to learn more about the profiles and experiences of victims, the adequacy of service responses during their lives and after their deaths, and the ways in which DHRs are commissioned and conducted in suicide cases.
WLS LLM student raises money to empower women in Nigeria
To celebrate International Women鈥檚 Day last week, LLM student Chidinma Kalu, initiated a fundraising activity to raise funds that will be utilised to empower women in Nigeria through equipping them with digital training and skills. The 拢364.12 raised will be used by the GirlLEAD Project to train and equip about 5 girls in Nigeria with digital skills, thus bridging the digital gender divide in the access to digital skills.
WLS Research Fellows attend Roundtable on the social consequences of the War in Ukraine
On the 23 of February 2023, the British Academy brought together experts from various fields to discuss and analyse the social impact of the war in Ukraine, including its effect on communities, individuals, and social structures. The event was attended by WLS fellows Dr Aisel Omarova and Dr Maryna Utkina.
First year WLS students make Student Client Interviewing Competition final
First year LLB students Siara Parveen and Charlotte Neal, successfully completed the regional semi-final of the Student Client Interviewing Competition (CIC) held in Sheffield earlier this month. 鈥淚t was definitely unexpected, but we are both really proud of ourselves [...and] absolutely delighted.鈥
