The University of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ awarded an Honorary Doctorate to renowned comedian Alex Horne for his contributions to widening participation. Alex, of Taskmaster fame, played a key role in the success of the University’s ‘School Tasking’ project.

At today’s ceremony (Friday 21st July) former Law student Bience Gawanas will be awarded one of these honorary degrees in recognition of her outstanding contributions and achievements.

Dr Serena Natile, Associate Professor at ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Law School, has been awarded the for her project ‘Transnational Social Security Law in the Digital Age: Towards a Grassroots Politics of Redistribution’.
Dr Alison Struthers wins ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Wows Award
The ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Wows celebrate amazing work, projects, and achievements at the University. The Law School’s Dr Alison Struthers won the award for her work on the School Tasking Project, an exciting outreach project enabling young people to learn about interesting aspects of the law and making it more accessible for them.
WLS Student Chiamaka Ithuoma wins WAPCE Undergraduate Award
Law School student Chiamaka Ithuoma, who is currently in her final year of our LLB 3 year Law degree, has been awarded the WAPCE Undergraduate Award for her work on the Cheylesmore Good Neighbours Project. The ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ Awards for Public and Community Engagement (WAPCE) seek to recognise the vital contributions ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ staff and students make in engaging the public in our learning and discovery and showcasing the role ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ plays in making the world a better place.
